Kwok reaches settlement in high profile bicycle fatality case

On July 20, 2018, just three (3) months from the date of this catastrophic loss, Rob Kwok and
Garrett Wilson settled Sudipta Roy’s wrongful death case for a confidential sum. Says Kwok,
“Sudipta’s death was a tragedy, one we maintain was preventable had the proper warning
devices been in place. But her death was not in vain. Major improvements at the intersection
of Sunset and Main near the entrance to Rice University are underway for the further/future
protection of Houston cyclists. Her husband, Dr. Roy is starting a foundation in India, where
Ms. Roy has been laid to rest.” This marks another high-profile case handled by our firm that
was followed by local, state and national news media. We are honored to be the go-to law firm
in Houston for cases in the news.

We are grateful for John Long at Bike Houston and Mary Natoli at Rice U Cycling Club for their
tireless work in raising awareness for bicycle safety.
